We made this pond on April 14, 2004. You drape the sod all the way
into the water so it hangs in a couple of inches.
Sure a little dirt gets into the water but so what?
Dirt gets into your water all the time and grass makes your pond
look like it's natural.
This is what it looked like on May 15th
This is our 600 gallon pond. Sod was laid right into the water.
Plants are either in the ground or planted in sand in trenchs in the pond.
There are no pots. Can you see the fish? The pump and the filter are both in
the pond. The filter is the round mass of plants. It's a bog filter that
never clogs and never needs to be changed
These are pictures of it on May 15th
This is the little bog starting to green up.
Larger plants will start sprouting as the weather get's warmer
This is a picture of the small bog on May 15th. The greenery and yellow flowers
will start dying away as the temperatures get warmer and the other plants
that you can't see right now that are growing underneath will take over and get
crazy.
This is another view of the 600 gallon pond.
Note the grass right into the water
